Degrees of Interest……Part-time degrees at the University of Leeds

Have you always wanted to study but never yet got round to it? Perhaps you now have more time on your hands and are thinking about returning to education. Make 2013 the year you start learning more about those subjects that interest you. There are lots of opportunities available to study part-time at the University of Leeds, through the Lifelong Learning Centre.

We understand mature learners, and can offer specialist services and support to those returning to education – no matter how long the gap! We recognise that there are other ways than A Levels to measure potential for success at university and take your life experience, as well as formal qualifications into account when looking at entry requirements.

What’s more part-time students are eligible for tuition fee loans meaning there are no upfront fees and financial support may be available, depending on your circumstances.  Repayments are only calculated on personal income over £21,000 and any outstanding loans are written off after 30 years. Additional financial support may be available, depending on your circumstances.

Single and joint honours degrees are available in a wide range of subjects including History of Art, English, Philosophy, Theology & Religious Studies, Social Sciences and Geography. For more information, please contact us on 0113 343 3212, or visit our website

Advanced German

Advanced German reading/conversation group meets most Mondays in term time (next term starting 23 September) at 7.30pm-9.30pm at Oatlands Preschool Hall, Mount Street, off Leeds Road.

We are a small group, taking turns to prepare something to read and discuss in German and the group has links with Leeds Anglo-German Club. All of us have worked in Germany, or studied to at least ‘A’ level and beyond.

We charge £10.00 per term which pays for rental of the hall. If you would like more information, please contact
