The Over 50s Show in Harrogate

Senior Times are organising the Over 50’s Show at the Harrogate International Centre, 11 am to PM on 15/16th June 2013.

The Over 50s Show is billed as a lifestyle event  for seniors, which addresses many of their interests and concerns such as, finance, travel,  health and well being, hobbies, antiques,  fashions, statutory entitlements etc.

Apart from featuring stands covering all these areas, we also run a programme of presentations covering related topics  such as health, finance, gardening, legal aspects etc. We also include a number of well-known experts in their fields. For example we will have Eric Knowles, well known to millions for his appearances on The Antiques Roadshow, who will be giving free valuations.

Daybreak Project

I am working on a new project within the Harrogate district which aims to support older people who have been bereaved, help them learn new skills and let them share their own know how.

We meet every Friday morning for coffee at Montpellier Court Cold Bath Road, 10.30am – 12.00 noon and we welcome new members.

Here’s a link to the Touchstones pages on our partner’s (Rural Action Yorkshire) website:

http://www.ruralyorkshire.org.uk/project/touchstones

As part of our work we have talked about hobbies and interests, keeping ourselves active and our minds stimulated etc, and I handed out copies of your U3A programme for our clients to take away, so you are included in our work!
