Singing for Pleasure

What a wonderful year Singing for Pleasure had in 2012, performing eight concerts. Our concert in June coincided with Jubilee week and Harlow Friendship Club welcomed us with a beautifully decorated hall with union jacks on the wall and distributed all round to be waved at the appropriate moment.

Our  main concert was in October, which was in aid of Parkinsons UK, raising £700. The Mayor and Mayoress attended, Alderman Les Ellington and U3A committee members.

Our Christmas concert was held at Mowbray Community Church in December, also a success and raised a considerable amount of money for Canaan Christian Trust.

We now have a membership of 50 and are hoping 2013 will be just as pleasurable and successful.

The membership is closed at the moment and it is waiting list only.

Who needs Gareth?

On the 27th October I attended a concert given by our choir. They all looked resplendent, the ladies in long black skirts and blouses . I liked the scarlet scarves giving the finishing touch. The men, not to be outdone, sported black trousers, white shirts and scarlet bow ties. All very professionel. The singing was excellent. I would have liked more of our songsters and less of their guests, but it was a good evening. They raised £700.00 for Parkinsons U.K . Well done all of you.
