Group Updates Cont’d

Photography

Our group has expanded yet again; after the AGM we took on another 11 members.

It has been a quiet time as we do not hold a meeting in December.

Our last outing was to Richmond on the 26th of October. It was a cold day, but it did not dampen our enthusiasm for trying to capture a masterpiece! The river was a favourite spot as the water was dashing by, luckily no accidents. The station was interesting as it has been made into a shopping centre with cafés, bars and an art gallery.

On the 19th January 32 of us had a most enjoyable belated Xmas lunch at the Pine Marten.

At our next meeting we will be making decisions on events, exhibitions, speakers, workshops, themes etc for the coming year.

Singing for Pleasure

Following the success of the charity concert which we put on last May as a joint venture with the Harrogate Concert Party, we have decided that it would be well worth doing again. This time we are involving both the singing groups, so that it will be a three-way effort; and to reflect this we will be sharing the proceeds among three charities – the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, St Michael’s Hospice and Martin House. The concert will be held on Saturday, June 12th at 7.30 pm at Starbeck Methodist Church; so please put the date in your diaries and support these worthy causes.

The Ladies Group, that meets on Mondays, is now full; but we would welcome another alto into the Wednesday Group, and also, as ever, another tenor or two. You are an endangered species – stand up and be counted!
