Group News cont’d
The “Strollers” walking group has now be going since July and meets at the bottom end of the bus station, on the first Tuesday of the month at 12.45 pm. At present the leaders are volunteers from the main walking group, but we hope that some of the strollers will volunteer when they get more confidence. We have visited Wetherby, Knaresbrough, South Stainley, Ripon, and The Pinewoods, and have strolled round the Stray to Harlow Hill and back via the Valley Gardens. Only one walk was cancelled because of the rain. The numbers taking part in this group confirm our belief that there is a need within U3A for such a group.

There are two groups running parallel courses.
Monday, St. John’s Church Hall, Bilton, 4.30-
Tuesday, Jennyfield Styan Centre, 4.30-
At both these groups there is room to accommodate more people. Try for one session at £4.00 and thereafter pay for the term according to the number of weeks left in the term. Wear comfortable clothes and thin soled shoes or socks for good contact with the floor. Contact me by email at: for more information.

The Wednesday group had an unusually high number of people with colds and coughs in the run up to Christmas, my grateful thanks to the stalwarts who did manage to keep going! However we were able to fulfil our commitments. A very rewarding engagement is due to the connection we have established with Springwater School. It is always a very lively concert, and is a delight to be sharing our music with young people for a change.
At the end of January the Ladies Group will have been in existence for two years
and I am very pleased with the way it has developed -
We are in need of a relief pianist who could step in if there are problems for our existing players. You would not need to attend every rehearsal, though of course if there is someone who feels they would enjoy making a regular commitment, that would be even better. If you think you could help, even in a limited capacity, then please give me a call.

Customer: I'm writing my first e-
Tech support: OK, and what seems to be the problem?
Customer : Well, I have the letter 'a' in the address, but how do I get
the circle around it?
Customer : My keyboard is not working anymore.
Tech support: Are you sure it's plugged into the computer?
Customer: No. I can't get behind the computer.
Tech support: Pick up your keyboard and walk 10 paces back.
Customer: OK
Tech support: Did the keyboard come with you?
Customer: Yes
Tech support: That means the keyboard is not plugged in. Is there another
keyboard?
Customer: Yes, there's another one here. Ah...that one does work.
