Photography

Our photography group over the past year has been delighted to welcome thirteen new members. This has brought the group to thirty one. So with regret we have chosen to move to St Robert's centre for our first meeting on the 26th of January.

Our November outing was to Leeds at the Victoria Quarter, where we met under a huge Christmas tree and a photograph was taken.

Then the group were let loose to take their photos. It was great fun trying to dodge the general public as the centre was busy because of the Christmas decorations. It was a challenge with reflections from shop windows, lighting and shop signs to contend with.

We managed to incorporate a visit to the old market. This was interesting with all the colourful stalls,  especially the fruit and vegetable ones. Above these we we saw an imposing roof structure.

Before our meeting in January, we had our annual group's lunch at the Millstones. Hopefully it was a relaxing time before the hard work to come in the year ahead!

Scrabble

The Scrabble group has got off to a good start with eight to ten members attending.

We meet at 2pm on the second Thursday of the month in Grosvenor House, Duchy Road.

All standards of play are welcome. At present we have a lone male who enjoys the afternoon but would love some masculine support. So how about it, all you gentlemen out there? Don’t worry if your spelling is not so good – we’ll help put you right!
