We are arranging a regular venue at the Cairn Hotel on the first Sunday of each month. It is hoped that members, new and established, would enjoy meeting new and old friends for a chat over afternoon tea. The Cairn Hotel is easy to get to by car or bus. The latter leave from the bus station about every 10 minutes.
The first meeting was on Sunday 4 May so to obtain information about arrangements for future Sundays contact Eileen .
If you get the answer machine, please leave your name and contact number. We hope that many of you will enjoy this and it will become a regular feature on the first Sunday of every month.
This new group is planning to visit Leeds Art Gallery on Friday 30th May. Meet at the bus station at 9.50am for the 10.00am ‘36’ bus to Leeds if you would like to join them.
Sheila Thomas is willing to help a small initial group start to learn Italian using a book and tapes. If you are at all interested – please put your name on the list at the back of the hall, or contact Sheila for more information.
The Scrabble Group is about to restart on the second Thursday of each month. The first session will be at 2pm on Thursday 8th May, at Grosvenor House, 39 Duchy Road. All are welcome - come along and join in. Members of the previous group are especially welcome. Contact Joy to express an interest.
A new walking group called the “Strollers” is about to start. Meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at 12.45 at the bottom end of the bus station, with the intention of catching a bus for the walk, this will be no more than 4 miles and where possible will end with a cup of tea.
