Shared Learning Project Survey
Maggie Smith former editor of Stray News and Writing Group leader would like us to participate in a project she is involved with.
She says, “I'm lucky enough to be taking part in two Shared Learning Projects, one at the Royal Opera House and a new one at the British Library, researching Children's Literature in the past hundred years.
As part of the Shared Learning Project on Children's Literature we are asking people to complete a Survey which looks at the way our generation learned about books.
Sample question:
2. Did you have access to a library when you were a child?
a) a local library with a satisfactory selection of children’s books
b) a mobile library visiting once a week with a limited choice of children’s books
c) a school library
d) no access to a library at all
As an avid user of libraries from the age of seven I was amazed to find that others in the group had no library nearby.
The more responses we have, the more reliable the research will be.”
If you are willing to complete the Survey, which will form part of the Report to the British Library, copies of the questionnaire are available from Janet Coatman at the Feb/Mar Open Meetings, or on request.
